I have a question and no matter how hard to look, cannot find the solution to my problem. Prior to converting to XP, everything worked perfectly.

Have a table with several Text columns acting as an index for a bi-weekly newspaper in our company. The final column is formated for a hyperlink. The user enters the text for the articles within each issue, then enters the hyperlink to the shared drive and the issue that is a Word document. Here is my problem: (1) when I create my hyperlink in The hyperlink box using a form, it does not seem to be picking up the entire address and will not run. From insert menu, I select hyperlink. On the look in line this is what I do using the drop down arrow:

Select the network (snt217)
Select the drive (BlueClues on GR)
Select the folder (File Links)
Select the Issue (001_02_2000.doc)

This is the output in my hyperlink box:
Text to display: BlueClues\File Links\001_02_2000.doc
Address: BlueClues/File Links/001_02_2000.doc

Here is my error when I try to run it:
Error: Unable to open BlueClues/File Links/001_02_2000.doc. Cannot open the specificed file.

If I go back in and change to \\snt217\BlueClues\File Links\001-02-2000.doc, it works good.

How can I get this to format correctly first time around or what am I doing wrong. Again, everything worked great prior to XP.

is \\snt217 the server that u are running the app on?
if not, you will need to set it up and enter it as http://

also, the table setup in design, the data type of the field should be hyperlink, not text.

Check those, and let us know.
Thank you.

\\snt217 is the server and the table set up is hyperlink. As I mentioned, in "pre-XP" days, I would perform the same steps and it formated and worked just right. Love XP, but there are a few funny things that happen in some programs.
