Hyperlink from Access to UD4

I have a website running that gives web pages when you search for them, a very small scale search engine, however when i set a field in the database to be a hyperlink, it comes up in UD4 as www.whatever.com#

http://www.whatever.com#

which is no good at all, can you help me with this.

Oh and can you dumb down your answer a bit, i am very new to UD4

I suggest that in your access table, don't specify it has a hyperlink, just text or memo etc. Then in the appropriate field in the database use HTML tags e.g.

instead of just using

http://www.webaddress.com

type
<A href=&quot;

http://www.webaddress.com&quot;>http://www.webaddress.com</a>

Why not use the excellent UD extension designed by the guy at T-cubed. He has this great extension that will let you select the field (text) that you have and automatically transforms it into a link. Viola! Can't remember the URL, type in autohyperlink t-cubed in google.
