Hi all!

My Access is rusty and this seems like it should be simple....

I have a hyperlink field on a form, which is based on a query with a field that contains local file addresses (one per record, of course). When you click on the field in the form (datasheet), it opens the document at the address in it's native program. All that works fine.

However, I'd like to replace the display of the address in the form with some other text or maybe even a button. I don't want users seeing the long address, but instead seeing something like "Click to open document".

How do I do that?

Thanks,
T

Have a look to the VBA help for the HyperlinkPart method to discover how to use the # in such field.

Hope This Helps, PH.

Thanks for the reply, PHV.

So is this a solution where I'll create a recordset in the form's module and use that instead of a query feeding the form?

Thanks,
T

Got the # to work in a query for a field in a form set to be a hyperlink. Thanks for direction, PHV!
