I developed several views using the Hyperion Analyzer(wired for OLAP) tools. I then took four of the view and put them into a form. There are two databases, two views each.
If I open the views individually in the window client development they each open within 2-4 seconds. However, the form in the same tool takes about 30 seconds. As a java client it is about 40 seconds. Once it is loaded then response is fairly good. Is this normal? Is there anything I can do? I have already determined that it is not the cubes. I trapped the reports and they load and execute almost immediately in excel or the essbase application manager.
I'm running on an NT box with two 1Ghz processors and 1 Gig memory. Nothing else other than Essbase, IIS(for this application) and the Analyzer runs on this box. Hyperion support indicates that the 40 second response time is normal. They considered 4-5 minutes bad response.
Any insights into this would be welcome. Even if it is, yes that is what it does. My VP cannot believe it is normal. I find it hard to believe also.
