Forgive me if this is in the wrong forum,

I have installed Hyper-V server on a test machine to see what it does and how it performs.

I seem to have fallen over on the first stage; there is no network device found. I have two windows in hyper-v, one blue one with limited functions, and a command line. I have typed help but can find no way to get hyper-v server to look for new hardware, or to install drviers for the hardware that is already present in the machine but not found.

Can anybody help?

Without the virtual machine running, modify the properties of the VM. There you can add a NIC. If you add a "legacy network interface card" it will be slower but my experience is it will be more reliable.

I hope you find this post helpful.

Regards,

Mark

Are you talking about using the Hyper-V role on a Windows 2008 server, or are you talking about running the stand-alone Hyper-V server product?
