does anybody now what this means. this is a new profile type from citrix. My question is what does it means and do andwhat are the benfits of this profile

Searched every good spot I have for Citrix as well as all the XP documentation and could find nothing in this under Hybride Profiles or Profiles...sorry. Mike Brown CCA

Where did you read about Hybrid(e) profiles? You sure it's not just some Sales pitch they use? Dave Namou, MCSE CCEA

To the best of my knowledge, Citrix don't provide profiles at all, let alone hybrid(e) ones.

Please post the url to this information :) CitrixEngineer@yahoo.co.uk

In many environments, roaming profiles can be troublesome and somewhat unreliable. Mandatory profiles, in comparison, are reliable, however they can be somewhat inflexible from the users' perspective, not allowing them to save their personalizations and their preferences for their applications. Hybrid profiles combine the best of both worlds, and also give the administrator a ton of flexibility in managing their environment. They also allow an admin to create a diverse, 'Silo'ed' MetaFrame environment that SCREAMS.

How?: The 'Hybrid Profile' is a tool developed by Citrix's Solutions Delivery team. If you are interested in implementing this tool, contact your local Citrix Systems Engineer for details.

this is what i so far found of this hybride profile.

Yhis is what i fiund so far about this profile

I really don't see how roaming profiles are troublesome and unreliable. If you use roaming profiles with system policies, then you have the best of both worlds.

I'm not exactly sure what Citrix's Hybrid profile is, but for some reason I'm thinking they bought out TRiCerat. Which has a simular product. TriCerat has a product called Desktop 2001. It basiclly emulates the Windows Explorer Desktop and the shortcuts and startmenu are customized from a central point. They also have a product called ThOR, which only allows certain exe files to run. Forcing your users to only run allowed exe's.
The product has a "good idea", BUT...

like I said before, Using roaming profiles and system policies is the best of both Worlds. Dave Namou, MCSE CCEA
