I have an OEM-type (LSI, I think) drive cage with 10 18GB SCSI hard drives in it. It's currently attached to my server with an Adaptec 2944UW adapter, since it needs to be HVD.

Anybody know if there's a RAID controller out there that will handle HVD SCSI connections? Seems that everywhere I look, it's just LVD SCSI.

Thanks!

Good luck finding anything to do with HVD components. I got a good price on a Quantum DLT 4500 (5 Tape Autoloader) including 6 tapes, only to find out it was an HVD device. My servers all had LVD-SE controllers. I had a tough time finding an AHA 2944uw card, and finally settled on a used one from an NCR system. I think that HVD was popular with the large scale computer makers, SUN, HP9000, NCR. With HVD you could use a 25' meter cable on the external bus.
I once saw an LSIU40HVD HBA and the specs mentioned RAID but I thought it was for external RAID chassis devices. I don't know if that is what you have or not.
