Hunting round robin - but forward to external number if no answer

I was asked to set up a RR hunt group for 10 users but they want it to forward to a manager if all the agents are busy or dont answer.

I tried set up a RR with a PLdn for a lin group in it - thinking that - the calls would go in to the RR group, ring round and if no answer would go in to the Lin goup via the 2nd PLDN, then ring round the RR extensions again going to the manager DN if no answer.

I put all the RR extensions in this group as well followed by the managers dn.

But it doesn't seem to work :(

any ideas where i'm going wrong?
 
any chance of just setting up a Multi-call-Ring? Then make sure the marped set goes to manager? Be done and done. I wouldn't stay on line for 3 4 ring cycles, meaning 3 xfers, let alone 10.

I was working on the assumption - that if the other agents were busy - then they would be automatically excluded from the hunt group?

Unfortunately tha manager . only wants calls if all the agents are unavailable, whereas MR would ring his phone all the time?

Not sure i follow exactly what you mean. But ..

I added an 'extra' Dn to the hunt group and marped it to all handsets. I then put a call forward on no reply on this marped dn to the managers dn.

But it dosent seem to work( i haven't got a handset on the marped Dn _ will that matter?)
Even when all the other agents are set to Make set busy it just rings out.

Tearing my hair out here- and on a sat too!
 
There are good ideas here, but add this to the list: "Delayed Ring"

If you set a TN with Delayed Ring, then keys like SCN or MCN will start to ring after a defined length of time. Put the MCN on the managers phone

The only thing wrong with that is if all phones are busy, call will not go anywhere.
