Hunting over BRI

I have a question that relates to a fax server that is connected to a MD110 using 2 spans of BRI. AFAIK, the MD is a BC10 version.

So I have 4 ports of fax server, which will detect and route the faxes according to DNIS info. However I am having difficult in getting all 4 ports to respond in to an incoming call to the same number. That is if the first 2 ports are busy, there is no overflow onto the thrid & fourth ports.

I am told that the MD110 won't "hunt" between BRI spans.

If this doesn't work, can the MD110 be programmed to provide DTMF DNISdigits on an analogue extension?

Sorry, I'll be unable to respond til 15th Feb, but I will answer any further queries then

If at first you don't succeed, skydiving is not for you.

Hi Matt,

For Trunk hunting ,is normally provided by the service provider ( Public Exchange ).And in this case circular hunting is better then pilot huntig if anyone of the BRI is out of order.

Hope it help.

Thanks for your your response, (and sorry for taking so long to acknowledge it!)

I may have not provided enough info...

The MD110 has multiple E1 (PRI) interfaces to trunk. Fax calls are presented on these E1 trunks (using DDI). Fax calls are routed to the (outgoing) BRI link to the fax server. My question relates to the routing on the outgoing "trunk" connection to the fax server.

I take your point about circular hunting though!

Thanks again
