I have 2 hunt groups setup. I want the call from VMPro to ring the first group for 3 rings and then the second for 5 rings and then go back to the voicemail on the first huntgroup. Seems pretty simple. The problem I am having is after the calls are sent to the second overflow group, it will only ring it 3 times and then revert back to the first group. I have altered the no answer and overflow times every way I know how but no matter what I change it will still only ring the second group 3 times. I even put in a 3rd huntgroup for the second one to overflow to but it will not even touch it, just goes back to the first one after 3 rings. Has anyone seen this before?

Just to make sure you understand, all the timers that control the 3, and 5 rings you are speaking of are in the first hunt group, not in the second.

If memeory serves me, and I think I have halfziemers so it may not half the time. You are looking for two timers in the first HG voicemail timer, overflow timer, they vary somewhat depoending on the release which you never mentioned. One should be set to about 18 seconds, and the other to about 48 seconds, and adjust to fine tune.

I have tried editing them in the first group but no matter if I set Overflow timer to 10 seconds and Voicemail timer to 60, it will still only ring the second Hunt Group 3 times and then revert back to the first hunt group and after the timer on it ring the second one again etc... It will bounce back and fourth between the 2 groups, never ringing the 2nd group more than 3 times.

I think there were some major hunt group issues in 4.0.7 and 4.0.10. you may want to try 4.0.14. it has been pretty good on the sites i have put it on.

Have you tried to put the same group for 3/4 times in the overflow.
When there is only 1 group number in the overflow lis it will go back to the group but if you then put that same group in again it will stay there.

It works! Now if only I could remember what I did...

The ocerflow timer defines how long it rings the target group for before going to the overflow group AND how long it rings the overflow for. It will then go to the next overflow group or back to target group if there is no 2nd overflow.

Put the overflow group in twice then you should get it ringing the overflow for 2xoverflow timer.

Fooball is not a matter of life and death-It is far more important!!!!

Ok, I am good to go now. I didn't know you had to put all overflow groups in the overflow list, that works now. I also have it ringing the first overflow group 5 rings but I had to have the initial group ring the same amount of times as well. It will do. Thanks for your responses.

4.0.5,4.0.7,4.0.10 all have various hunt group issues. 4.0.14 is the fix. But 4.0.14 has an issue with congestion on voicemail ports causing voicemail to stop, requiring the Ip Office to be rebooted. The fix is to upgrade to 4.1.9. Unfortunately the the problem is also in 4.1.9.You must then get the PB from Avaya to fix it.

I found out the hard way!!

What exactly would be the easy way to find this out? Oh, maybe reading it in this post, yep.
