Hello,

I was recently asked to setup a new line for the Security department in our building. They asked me if I can have a DID number that rings the secretary phone and if she doesn't answer then it rings a group of 3 phones. I am unsure how to set this up. I've setup MCR's in the system before but never anything like this. The system is an Opt 61 at release 7.5 and using 3900 series phones. Any assistance would be appreciated.

I'm assuming the secretary already has her own number that you don't want to go to these 3 phones? Basically a new number appearing on her phone? If so then you will need to burn a spare unused TN to do this to allow the hunting and forwarding to work independent of the secretary's phone.

add an MCR key of a new unused number to the 3 phones on one of the keys (doesn't need to be DDI) leaving their personal DN Key 0 unchanged.
new DDI is the PLDN for a linear hunt group
in the GHT member 0 is the secretary and member 1 is the new MCR number

Is that what you are after?

KCFLHRC- Yes the secretary has her own DID and I do not want that to go to these other 3 phones. It will be a new number on her phone so will I have to setup a phantom TN to make this work?

bignose21- This sounds like what I'm looking for. This new MCR key you said for the group of 3 does not need to be a DID? But the secretary will need a new DID setup as the main number for the department, is that what your referring to as the PLDN for a linear hunt group? The group of 3 people have 3903's and 2 spare keys available so space shouldn't be an issue. I have never setup group hunting before on this system so I don't know what loads to go into for setting this up. From what I've read it seems like LD 18 might be where to start. Can you possibly provide more detail?
