I have a BCM 400 3.6 with DID service via PRI. I want a DID number to ring a group of phones with no voicemail for this DID number ever. Already each of these phones has a separate DID and the CF NA time is 4 rings. The phones are I2004.

I set up a Hunt group (625) with the phones as hunt group members and I assigned target line 241 to the hunt group. I set up the hunt group as broadcast. When I called the DID number, none of the phones rang nor did they ring when I called the hunt group DN.

I'm using a hunt group because I need to have the DID number ring forever and never go to voicemail (customer's request). Assigning the target line to the phones works and I made the lines ring only but the voicemailbox of the lowest DN still picks up. I don't think I need to use an answer DN and I don't have a spare phone.

What can I do? Is my programming of the hunt grou wrong. This is the way i usually do it on a Norstar

Sometimes it takes a few minutes for the programming to take.

Did you program on the phone or PC ?

Is the target line configured as public?

What is the Prime DN?

Did you set the members to be ring, ring and appear or appear only in the hunt group.

it takes a few minutes, huh. I did not give it a few minutes I tested right away. THat could be it.

I programmed using a PC. I was not aware you can program with a phone! (?)

THe members were ring only, I don't want it to take up a button appearance.

The target line is public, I was able to assign it to multiple phones. The prime DN is 221, I tried to change it to 625 but it said that was not a valid DN.

You said you have assigned that line to multiple phones. If you assign the target line to the hunt group, you have to remove that line appearence from the sets, or your call foward setting will come into play.

Verify that the Queue time is maximum ( I think default is 30 seconds ).

yes I assigned the line to a bunch of phones as ring only but the voicemail was kicking in for the lowest DN number so I removed the line and set up the hunt group. When I set up the hunt group, I got nothing, no ringing and I don't know where the call was going. MrMarshall said I shoudl wait for the settings to take, is that always the case and how long?

Did you assign the phones you want to ring to the hunt group and what line???

It takes about a 1 min. If that does not work I would try a warm restart on the MSC card on the BCM and then try again. what version of BCM.

Marshall

mrmarshall:

version is 3.6, please clarify what a warm restart is on the MSC card?

ps, your site is great.

If you click on diagnostics then click MSC you can warm start the msc card by clicking on config the warm restart.

Marshall

I re-attempted the programming today. Then I logged off from the bcm and closed my browser and it worked. the hunt group worked.

thanks!
