Is it possible to setup a hunt group to dial a pager if unanswered?

You would need an extension to set it up to ring a pager with a call foward. You set the extension to be the overflow extension and set the timer parameter on the hunt group min. 15 secs.If it was a target line or something you wanted to use all the time you could use the callpilot and set up a transfer node on the CCR tree. Then set the call pilot to answer after the amount of rings and transfer to the pager.

Hope this makes sense.

Thanks for the tip.

I now have a new problem. When I dial the hunt group internally the overflow settings work fine.

However when the hunt group is dialed from the auto-attendant, (CCR tree does a tranfer to the HG extension (#604) ) it does not overflow when unanswered, it goes to a VM box. I deleted the VM box (this was our old setup), but it still won't follow the overflow settings and transfer to another extension when unanswered.

I know im missing a setting somewhere, probably in call pilot, but I jsut can't find it. Any tips?

Thanks!
Neal

You need to increase the transfer ring back timer. What happens is the voicemail transfers the call. If the call is not answered before the transfer ring back timer the system pulls the call back to the voicemail box or cuts the call off.Depending on how it is setup.

Makes sense, next question, where do I find the transfer ring back timer?

thanks again.

Go to servivces-----telephony services-----general settings-----timers.

Worked like a charm, thanks!

BTW, other than impacting transfered calls (which should get pickedup by VM instead of ringing back anyways) is there anything else that could be impacted by this setting change? Will I get a bunch of users calling me tomorrow saying I broke x on their phone?

Thanks again.

Unless you have a call center you should have no problems. Even the call center thing is small.

You should change your name to mrnortel.
