Hunt Group name not displaying on phone on 2nd incoming call 1

Hi all,

I have 2 HG's setup. Dept A and Dept B. Reception receives calls for both. The 1st incoming call to Reception will display as EXTERNAL>DEPT A and then Caller ID will show on Call Appearance button 1. If a 2nd incoming call starts to ring, the CID shows in Call Appearance button 2 but the HG name doesn't appear on the line it typically does (I'm guessing because the receptionist is already in a call).

Is their a way to display the HG name while on a 2nd call?

Hi all,

I just figured it out. The manual way would be to just press the down arrow to highlight the 2nd call appearance button. This allows more call detail info to be displayed. duh!...

To have this automatically work, at each phone you have to enable Auto Display Waiting Call under FEATURES>CALL SETTINGS.

That really should be a default feature. Of course you want to see more detail of an incoming call so you know if it's more important than the call you're currently on. Couldn't find anything like that in Manager...unless someone else knows where it's hiding...
 
It's hiding in the exported csv of the configuration. Column FC, US_PHONE_DISPLAY_CALL_WAITING

You would have to export the configuration, edit it down to just the User section, change that column from FALSE to TRUE, then import it back.

NOT recommended if you've never done this type of configuration editing.

(Also, displaying the User Name on the phone is column FF, US_PHONE_DISPLAY_NAME)
