Just when I think I have it figured out. Is their a rule of thumb when deciding what extensions go into Hunt Group Extensions #505. I have always counted the slot where the VM module resides, then I use the last two ports as if it were a 206. For example, if I have an ACS R8.0 processor (extensions 10 thru 18)in the P slot of a five slot carrier and the VM module, regardless of what type of VM module is in slot 1, I would input ext 23 and 24 into the Hunt Group Extension #505. Do you agree with that assumption?

Nope, because if it is Partner Mail VS, it's going to be the LAST 2 or 4 ports of the slot as if it were a 206 module. With a 5x9 processor, 23/24 or 21/22/23/24

If it's Partner Messaging, it's going to be the FIRST 2, 4, or 6 ports of the slot as if it were a 206 module, so that would be 19/20, 19/20/21/22, or 19/20/21/22/23/24

Of course, if you have a 3x8 processor, or other cards in the mix, that will complicate the issue.

The only time you don't have to think is when you are using the PC card voicemail, because that's always 78 and 79.

So is it safe to say that what ever slot the voice messaging is in, it is the first two or four or six ports? And with a Partner Mail VS it is always going to be the last two or four?

Yup, there you go. It gets sticky when you throw other cards into the mix. Many newbies don't know how to count the ports, don't know that you shouldn't skip slots (many will put the VM to the right of the processor, in slot 3, even through there are no cards in slots 1 and 2). And put a 400 card in the mix, it has no extension ports but it occupies 6 extension numbers.

Thank you, I feel now like I have a handle on determining which extensions to assign.
