I have some sites that are migrating from a traditional key system environment over to the Shoretel. They currently have a general delivery mailbox for each of their sites. The main number for the site appears on multiple phones, but when it rolls to voicemail it goes to the general delivery box.

I have setup hunt groups to handle the call appearances, but I am not sure about how to do the general delivery mailbox for them. If the calls are ringing simultaneously on several sets at the same time does it go to a specific mailbox or just keep ringing?

When calls come into a Hunt Group you can choose what happens when the call enters a no answer state. If you want you can send it to the general mailbox. In the Hunt Group you would also determine how many times it rings before it goes into the no answer state.

How do I setup a general mailbox with the same number as the hunt group or do I need to use route points instead of hunt groups?

I also thought about using a distribution list and creating a dummy mailbox-only extension that forwards its messages to the admin assistant.
