We have a Partner ACS with 206 expansion module in slot #2 and have programmed Hunt Group 7 for Stations 28 and 29. Are these the only stations that should be assigned for Hunt Group 7?

It seems that if we assign Extension 10 to Hunt Group 7, we lose the ability to automatically pick up an outside line when picking up handset or speaker phone.

The only v-mail extension being used is Extension 10.

Partner ACS Release 1.0
Partner VMS Release 4

It sounds like you have the VMS in slot 3, then you would use 28,29. Hunt group 7 is for the VMS ports only. Don't put any others in it.

Don't confuse #310 Auto VMS Coverage with Hunt Group 7 - a common newbie error.

Assign only the voicemail ports to hunt group 7, that announces to the ACS that a voice mail device suitable for message taking exists. The purpose of the hunt group is to allow the ACS to determine how many voice mail ports exist and which are busy or available to take a call.

Then use #310 to define extensions that you want to forward to one of those voicemail ports defined in hunt group 7 when that extension is busy or unanswered.
