I am not a Magix man, but am a Avaya Buisiness partner. I just picked up 2 Magix systems. The question I have is one of the customers has two PRI's and they would like to drop one. The second PRI is broke into trunk groups from the phone company with one did for each trunk group. They do this so that their hunt groups can only get so many calls. If I drop the second PRI and set up those DID's come in on the first PRI, when the hunt group is full will the outside caller's here a busy back. It is software version 2.2. Thank's in Advance!!!

Well, that looks like a question for the Provider of those lines.

Since the Hunting Groups are done by the provider, they would have to tell you what would happen.

Also, you could make tests yourself and see if they currently roll over to the other PRI.

My guess is they do not do that, and you would probably get a busy when all trunks in a group are busy.

But the provider of the service should know for sure.

The hunt/ring groups are set up in the Majix. The PRI was channelized so that they could only recieve so many calls on the DID that was attatched to that trunk goup set up by the phone company. Now that we will be transfering the DID's to the main PRI wich has only one trunk group if all of the phones inside the magix in a perticular hunt/ring group are busy, will the magix give a busy back or will it ring untill someone gets off a phone? Thanks

OK, I misunderstood when you said the provider broke them into separate trunk groups.

By using the GROUP CALLING feature of the Magix, you can utilize QUEUE CONTROL to determine how many calls the system will allow into a CALLING GROUP'S QUEUE.

TO return a BUSY when all extensions in a particular group, QUEUE CONTROL is set to ZERO and there would have to be NO OVERFLOW or SUPPORT for that group.

I would use WINSPM to print out how it's being done now.

Considering that it is working now, with D-I-D's you will probably still have, I doubt that you will need to change anything except the programming for the 1st PRI.

How do you set up the hunt group in the system. I have 3 extensions that need to have the main number rolled over too.

Thank you very much I will give it a try!!!

bbell22, Start you own thread and you please provide more details.

Thanx...
