Commedian Ron White (aka "Tater") said this: "If I had know the difference between 'anecdote' and 'antidote' my friend would still be alive. He was bitten by a copperhead and I was reading him humorous stories from Reader's Digest."

That makes sense to me. After all, "Laughter is the Best Medicine".

My parents subscribed to RD when I was young and the humour sections were the only parts I normally read.

RD became my favorite magazine at about age 11. I loved the humor. My folks have nearly every "Condensed Book" edition since 1952, and I still have hundreds of copies of the magazine from the '70s and '80s.

Speaking of humor, does RD publish a "Life in the UK" section for its European editions? (Here, it's "Life in These United States").

Actually, if you are talking about a "Life in the UK" section you would be speaking of "humour", not "humor".

As Papa Ram said, "I didn't mean to disrespect the [red]ewe[/red]."

It's no disrepect to me. I live in the great state of "Vajinya".

Can you say "Vajinya" in a post and not get red flagged?

Maybe I should have written vajinya.

So what are you going to do if you get sick of the Mid-Atlantic and decide to move to Regina?

Drop the southern accent!
