Does Brightstor Arcserve 9 support IDE backup devices??

If so, I got an Iomega Zip 100 and I would like to backup to this device, but every time I setup a job, it says

"Cannot use the RUN NOW option, because no backup device is detected"

When I run the device-configuration, I cannot find the zip drive

If I manually add a group, I still cannot use it

A little help plzzz

Thx

IDE drives are generally not supported by ARCserve. There are a couple of tape drvies that are IDE that will work. The zip drive may be seen if you go into device configuration and select the "Removable Drive" button. If the zip drive shows, you should be able to put a check box in front of the drive and then be able to backup to it. I do not know if CA supports such a configuration.

Good Luck.
