I have a problem with the MTA database files filling up the space on the volume which stored those .dat files causing the MTA service to stop. I had noticed some of the MTADATA .dat files are very huge in size eg. 700+ meg per file. I had since temporarily use the optimizer tool to move the MTADATA files to another volume to free up space.
I restarted the MTA service and it seem fine.
I had then stopped the MTA and run the MTACHECK tool and came up with no errors. I am still seeing those huge sized MTA files residing in the MTADATA directory. I remember not seeing such huge sized file before. What could cause these to happen? How can I delete or reduce the file size increase?
