We have about 9 people max accessing a server and print server at any one time over a LAN nearly all machines are Win98 SE and a couple still Win95. All these machines operate prefectly over the network. We recently purchased two new machines with Windows XP Pro which replaced two of the older machines. These two XP machines have very bad lag sending to our print server and unacceptable lag to the mapped network drives on the main server (8 in total). We tried most of the Reg Key fixes regarding slow viewing of mapped network drives. Got all the latest drivers for the network cards and software on the machines.
We are using TCP/IP protocols for the network. This problem is driving us insane with the wait to send prints and access the server. If anyone out there has any ideas or suggestions it'd be well appreciated.
