HTTPS to HTTP

In the first ASP page (

https://......)

I have a link, which when clicked, initiates download of a file. If the download file is (

http://......)

- I get a security alert. But if I use (

https://.....)

as the download file - the downloaded file is not in the correct format.

Is there a workaround for this problem?? Can anyone suggest solutions.
