I just recently have not been able to view https sites.
Hello,
What you describe could be a couple of things. One could be that either your "cookies", located in C:\Windows\Cookies and/or your temp internet files are full, located in C:\Windows\Temporary Internet Files. I would suggest for you to empty these out. Note: This will remove any passwords that you may have saved on your computer that have the "save password" checked and you will have to enter them again. Everything in the cookies will delete but "index.dat".

Another thing that it may be is your TCP/IP may be corrupt. To fix this, you may need your windows disk if the proper cab files are not on your computer. Remove TCP/IP from Control Panel/Network, do not shut down when prompted and do a search and rename the .386 part to .old of the following: vip.386, vtcp.386,vtdi.386, and vtdnb.386 to all located in Windows\System. At this point, restart the computer. Go back to Control Panel\Network and Add TCP\IP in again.

Good Luck.

I am not sure exactly what your question is but https, basically stands for Hypter Text Transfer Protocol Secure, i think. All i know is that any site that uses this protocol for their site has a very high level of encryption on all the http requests that you send. You usually only see these servers used in online banking, transferring of CC numbers, etc... If you have a specific problem, you might have to play around with your security settings. Try setting to low security, then if it works move to a medium security setting. If you are still stuck you can email me with the specific question, good luck

moses
tmoses@iname.com
<a href= my site
"In the beginning there was HTML, and it was good"
If running thru a proxy, first check your Tools...Internet Options...Connections...Lan Settings...Advanced:

Look for the listing called "Secure"...see what proxy address you have there. It should be an IP address matching your proxy server. Check the box that says "use same proxy address for all".

(If it is blank, or has a "name" of a server there...maybe you are running a Winsock client thru your proxy, make sure your Winsock applet in control panel is set up properly)

I had this problem, after messing with my settings, trying to placate one secure site that we needed to access. We previously had no problems connecting to https sites, then they (the single site) suggested we use a Winsock client. It did not help the situation, but in changing settings for Winsock I was "suddenly" not able to hit ANY secure sites.

You can also try upgrading your browser/components at ...the latest Microsoft virtual machine helps speed things up (sometimes).
