Hi,
I have a home network running on a crossover cable with a Linux server and WinME client. The server runs samba, apache, mysql and provides the dialup connection. Everything is working fine except that after ~8 minutes the WinME pc can no longer connect to websites. It can still collect email directly from the net, can still ping and all the local network still runs fine - except that it can no longer get to the local apache server either. Do I have a setting wrong somewhere? I don't know much about networks - is there a diagnostic tool I can run?
This problem occurs in IE, Firefox and Opera and also affects AVG updates ( http ) and the AIM stock scroller ( http ). The pcmcia card shows that data is being sent out over the lan. The linux box shows that data is being sent to the Internet, but nothing ever comes back, meanwhile the Linux box can surf as happily as ever.
Many thanks for your help
Andy
