Hi all,

I have a problem which are causing me great stress (ok not that much...but better look grave ejj!!hehe). Well, i've installed Fedora Core 3 on my P4 with 512MB of Ram and also installed are Apache v2.0.52 and PHP 5.0.0 RC2 which i manually compiled and installed. Also installed is the mysql v5.0.2!

The Server is used to serve our company's intranet which is mainly accessed from the local intranet though it will eventually be accessed via normal internet!

The problem is that after a few hours or max a couple of days the server slows down to a point that the page will half load and timeouts!

I'm quite an amateur in administration so please bare with me.

Restarting the httpd service usually solves the problem. I really don't know what to look for or check!

Do you have any idea what i can look for?if so any help woul be imensly appreciated!

Regards
B

Bernini,

When you experience this problem with the server "slowing down", do your Apache logs show anything unusual?

Not really! should i look for something in particular? or you have something in mind?

Thanks

Bernini,

Your error log may show something that is a factor. It's difficult to say what the cause is without more information.

hi,

well, the httpd logs show nothing abnormal (except for few missing files which i fixed!).

now to get you in the picture apart from the above information i forgot tomention that i'm using https for my intranet with a private key that i have created and 'signed' on the os itself! could this be a cause? Or could it be the OS (ie Fedora Core 3)!!

Thanks for your help!
