I have a static IP, a router with port forwarding to three HTTP servers (2 windows: 80, 8080 and 1 linux:8081). The Windows IIS work just fine. Linux Apache works inside the router (the LAN) but cannot be seen from outside the router (the WAN or internet). I do not have a firewall running (I know this is bad!!). I have checked iptables and it is not running. I get a response of "Zero Sized Reply" when I try to access Apache from the internet.

I have installed Ethereal and it did not see any packets coming -- or at least it does not appear to be coming to eth0.

From the Linux box, I can open Firefox ad get to any internet site without problems. I suspect its a configuration issue.

Any ideas what I might try?

Well, I tried a lot of things. So many that I hosed up the connections. Since this was a beginner box, I started over again. I just reinstalled Fedora Core 3, enabled the Firewall.

I can now see the outside world. I now have to start Apache and get it work correctly. Now I am back at Square 1.

There is some issue about D/SNAT forwarding and one side being non accessable, but thats usually the lan trying to connect to server3 throught server2.. Might apply kinda to your case. The fix is a lil more harder than usual solutions, but logical, cant remember it though. You could check the docs on netfilter.org (the howto), or
Try using redir instead, that should work for sure.
