One of my clients is running Exchange 2003 with SP2. When trying to access the OWA, they receive HTTP 404 – file not found. I have searched Google to find the solution, but can’t fix it. Following MS article Troubleshooting Outlook Web Access, I created a test Virtual Directory called OWA. It works and shows text only format (see below) like OMA if the Application Pool is DefaultAppPool.

However, if I switch to the ExchangeApplicationPool, the test OWA will receive HTTP 404 too. Then I created a test pool call ExchApplPool and assign it to the OWA test, but that doesn’t fix the problem. The identity of ExchangeApplicationPool and ExchApplPool is Local System. Any suggestions?

thank you for the details. However, I compared one by one and tried to match them, but that doesn't work except I don't use SSL. I think it is some things to do with excahngeApplicationPool because switching to DefaultAppPool can see the mails.

Thank you. I thought re-creating the would fix the problem. but that doesn't. I am thinking maybe I need to re-create ExchangeApplicationPool.
