HTTP 401.1 - Unauthorized: Logon Failed

Getting a little confused here so would be greatful for anyone who can explain us through this.

I have installed IIS
change the ASP option to ASP.net
Ticked allow Anomynous access
made sure i am on the log on local director

but still when i try and view anything in that folder i get the error message in the above

Suggestion...
Look at the NTFS and Share permissions of the directory structure. What are they set to?
