Hi,
I do not know why but I get an error whe I try to view the web site on my web server on the server itself and also outside from the Internet.
When I browsed the website It asks for username and password. When I did not enter anything it gives the HTTP 401.1 error. Saying that "You are not authorized to view this page" I changed the IIS default security settings using the microsoft article at . But it did not work.
I deleted the website definition on IIS and the directory. Then I regenerated on another directory. It is still the same. IIS directory security is assigned to IUSR_computername but still gives the error. I also make the password of the IUSR_computername all the same at the directory security settings and Active Directory. Still gives the error.
I also set the permission to full control for IUSR_computername and the IWAM_computername. Still gives the error.
There is no firewall. And I did not changed anything on the IP setting neither the server nor the website.
I run windows 2003 server, IIS 6.
Uninstalled IIS and installed IIS but it gives the same error.
I checked the unassigned IP website. It works fine. But the web site is not works for an assigned IP on the server. Since the web site was working previously, There is no IP misconfiguration, etc.
I only installed SQL MSDE 2000 with sql security. But again I uninstalled the MSDE 2000. Still the same error.
I serached this forum, but there is no related topic that has been answered.
What can I do more to solve this problem? Any help is appreciated.
