Hi, I was just wondering if there was any way to place a hot-spot over a flash object. I've created a flash-based menu and I would like to have a hot-spot over wach of the menu items so that I can create drop-down menus. Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Surely if you create a menu system in Flash then you would use ActionScript to control where it sends users.
There is no point at all in making a flash navigation system that doesnt use flash to do the actual navigating.

Putting a "hotspot" over the Flash movie is just making a rod for your own back! I'm not even sure you will be able to do it as I think Flash objects appear above all other page objects (kind of on a transparent overlay in your browser).

Thanks traingamer for the link. I'll take a closer look at what they mention there asap. Oh, and cLFlaVA, thanks to you as well...I actually tried creating a higher z-index and using some CSS to position it, but sadly it was a no go.
The reason I wanted the hotspots was to create a drop-down menu system, but I have content directly under the menu-bar. So, if I included the drop-down menus(triggered when the mouse goes over the menu item) within the Flash file, the height of the flash "movie" would be increased, thus I would have a huge space (containing the hidden drop-downs) between the menubar and the content below. Unless there is a way to have the flash content(in this case, the drop-down menus) overlap the HTML content; is that possible?

Thanks again,

Here's another option. Why do buttons have to be flash buttons in the first place?
