CR XI and SQL database...

i have built a report using font Arial 8 pt type. from the crystal viewer on the remote server I have built it, the report will display properly. If i view in HTML mode from the same server, it will display properly.

When i load it into it's web based application and run the report via a browser from my laptop it will display properly.

When certain users (not all, just some) view the report via it's web based application, the report does not display properly.

The text fields will appear to overlap or be misaligned.

Again user Arial for the font... should be pretty universal. I found an article where it could be a printer setting where the viewer cannot find a font on a users' computer and will substitute Arial but that doesn't make sense to me since that is the font i am using.

Is there some setting in CR that i can apply that will eliminate this issue? [sadeyes]

any help is greatly appreciated.

For the users who are having problems, have you checked the "Text Size" setting in the browser? I suspect they may have it set to something larger than "medium" which is the default. This setting will affect anything they view in the browser.

A computer only does what you actually told it to do - not what you thought you told it to do.

You might also want to have a look at the Advanced Display Settings on the offending machines.

If the offending machines are set to something other than "Normal 96 DPI" it will cause the issues that you are describing with overlapping text, labels, etc... A lot of people change this setting to 120 DPI to compensate for the greater native resolution of today's workstations.

Excellent!

Thank you very much Lyle, we checked every other setting in the world but that was the one! thank you sooooo much!

Hify, thanks too for your suggestion. It was one we already tried to no avail.

:-D

Glad to be able to help.

That Windows option has been around for a while and is very evil.

Thanks for the star.
