HTML Text Word to change stationary images

I'm fairly new to dreamweaver but very comfortable in HTML. How do I create a navigation bar that when the mouse goes over the category a single picture frame changes to each category. For example I would like one pic spot and when you move your mouse over the 7 categories the one pic spot changes to a picture that represents that category?? I have seen it on other sites but cannot understand the code when I look at the source. Thanks.

Stick each image into its own layer then apply the Show>Hide Layers behaviour. Making sure each catagory shows onMouseover and hides onMouseout.
