HTML template - javascript not working

I've read various threads that state that oulook uses IE security settings, and if something works in IE then it will work in outlook. It doesn't for me - can anyone suggest anything?

Basically I have an html template that when opens, prompts the user to enter a date, time & place - the user is then to email this off to a client.
When I open this template in IE - fine no problems, prompt appears accepts info and displays on webpage.
When I open this template in Outlook - no prompt appears therefor no info is put into webpage.

We use Win2Kpro, IE 5.5 & 6 and Outlook 2K sp3 with Exchange 5.5 sp4
