is it possible to open all my links from my nav bar in a cell of a table or in a table on its own. The reason I want this is to have my nav bar and banner constant while each links opens on the same section of my webpage. I've tried IFRAMES and layers and they're not really the best solution for me. Also I want to keep away from frames
 
I think you just mentioned all the options there. Frames would be the obvious solution. barring those, Iframes.

One option I use is to have the content "hidden" then display it when you click a link. I don't think this would be suitable for a full site, after all you're loading all the content and just showing it onclick.
