Ok.. so i am good at html and good at flash, and new at putting the two together.

So i wanna put together gallery menus that will be updated an awful lot. I figure embedding a simple html page into a flash shell would work nicely.. but with preload, added animation on start up, vertical scrolling and locking pretty much all else out.. there any tricks to making this uber easy, simplified, and all that goodness?

Any tips would be appreciated. ^^

You can't embed HTML in Flash. You can display a HTML formatted text but that's about it.

You can however parse the XML and display objects accordingly. This is pretty normal way of doing things in Flash, but I wouldn't say it's über easy I'm afraid.

hmm.. that doesn't seem right.. but i won't argue.. so what would be the better way to do this.. build external flash menues and load them.. i just don't wanna mess with the core flash everytime i have to change the contents of a menu.

Thanks for the info.

Usually you'll have an XML, and if you want to change something just change the XML. So you don't need to touch the FLA once deployed.

What doesn't seem right by the way? You embed Flash in a HTML, not the other way round.

Well maybe the term embed is totally misleading. my issue is that i swear i have seen 2-3 sites where it had an intro, and then the page was html-like in that even the right click acted like it was over an html page.. not a flash piece. so idk.. maybe it was a very clever disguise or pop-up/over that disolved and closed... i can't find it again or i would show ya v.v

At any rate, you've given me the next best thing and that gets me back on track. Thanks, I appreciate it. ^^
