HTML escaping?

Hi..I've had a scan through PHP.net's function documents, but couldn't see any way to get rid of the ' and " in front of double and single quotes. I dont want to use set_magic_quotes(), as that will cause me problems further up in the script. Any regex that you could recommend, or a specific function to strip these \

u can use stripslashes() for that..
