Hey guys,

Can anyone recommend a good HTML Editor/Web page creation tool for Linux?

I just found a kewl free one called 1st Page 2000 but unfortunately, only seems to be Windows based. I guess I could try to wine it...

Guys - I just found another called Quanta (quanta.sourceforge.net) which seems quite groovy and designed for KDE.

I noticed that bluefish uses GTK - is that like a GNOME thing or what? (Sorry - yes, I'm a noob).

Thanks in advance.

Nice find wmg. Have yourself a star too. I use KDE so I can't wait to get home and try it.

I'm a newbie aswell but I think you are right, GTK is a Gnome libraries thing. Someone please correct/slap me if I'm wrong.

Heh, stupid Windows - took me twice as long to write this post because XP blue-screened in the middle of it :)

Wooohoooo - stars for *everyone* ! :))

I was talking to a guy here are work (he's quite interested in linux as well) and he was saying that Gnome is built using the GTK - which is evidently the 'Gimp ToolKit'.

So [I'm guessing...] Gnome needs GTK installed to run - and I guess bluefish does too - but you don't have to be using Gnome to run bluefish - as evidenced by your response that your use KDE and bluefish.

Phew...

...and slowly we climb in the pit-of-noobs, to one day break free. Whence that day will come, we know not - but we're enjoring the climb....

Ooops - that's supposed to be 'enjoying'...

oh well.

Hey hads, I notice that you're from NZ too - kewl!

I downloaded Quanta via CVS tonite and it seems promising. I'm having a few problems, but thats to be expected as its not released for KDE 3 yet. If your running KDE 2 you'll be sweet but I'm really looking forward to the ver. 3 release!

P.S wmg Yeah, I'm from Timaru but in Sydney at the moment. Miss NZ though, where bouts you from? [smurf]

Oh - that could be a problem - I'm using KDE3 (Redhat 7.3) as well.

Timaru? Kewl - I finally went there just this year - on my way to visit family in Dunedin (fell in love with it too!).

I'm from the land of Aucks.
