does any one know of a good free WYSIWYG HTML editor to create web pages. All I have is Microsoft Word. I need something better, free, and for mac 10.4

Download Mozilla and try its Composer. It's your basic wysiwyg html editer.

Using OSX 10.3.9 on a G4

both would work. tried both.
problem: how do I move image around to where I want it.
I am so used to working in quark and photoshop.
Thanks.

Learn HTML and CSS as there are any number of ways to move an image on the page and any number of reasons why you may not want such control. There are many HTML and CSS tutorials found through your favorite search engine.

If you really want thinkless web design, consider Apple's new web design app found in iLife. iLife is not free but for everything you get at the price it might as well be considered free.

Why not use QuarkXPress or Photoshop to make your web pages if you are already familiar with them?

If I could use Quark, Photoshop or imageready to make my web pages, that would be good. I have signed up for an online college course (advanced web design). It's too late for me to withdrawal. I am doing ok. but I am don't know how to make my pictures have a link. I know how to make text have a hyperlink but not pictures. How is this done? can you help. maybe i will figure it out today.
Thanks Again

The nature of a forum is to answer general questions and offer ideas. If you want detailed instruction in web design, find a tutor (a person, a book, a video, a web site) or Google for an answer.

Here is what Google just returned to me regarding linking with images...

And when you do start learning HTML, forum215 might also be a(nother) place to go.

I'd advise you buy a copy of dreamweaver if your serious, but you don't need to. I often just use TextEdit to create simple pages.

Code:
<a href="[URL unfurl="true"]http://www.linkto.com"<img[/URL] src="[URL unfurl="true"]http://www.wheretheimageisheald.com/images/logos.gif"[/URL]
></a>
