htaccess problem

If someones type in

http://www.domain.com/folder/test.html

the htaccess should redirect to

http://www.domain.com/newfolder/folder/test.html,

but only if the file exists else it should try to open

http://www.domain.com/folder/test.html

as usual. How can i do this?

You'd need some sort of script to check if the file exists. htaccess will just redirect to what you specify, if your file is not there it will return a 404 error.
