Hi, as far as I understand, .htaccess files only work on apache. Is there an addon to make them work on iis or is there an alternative. Thanks

Hi, IIS with frontpage server extensions also supports .htaccess.

Hope this helps. Please let me know if this resolve your issue

Hi, I have frontpage server extensions enabled but even though I have .htaccess files in my webroot directory when I goto it does not do what it should be. I'd appreciate your help once more. Thanks

Hi, are your extensions configured on the site or they are just installed?

Right-click on your web site in internet service manager, in all tasks do you see "configure server extensions"?

This is for version 2000, what's your version of IIS and FPSE?

Hope this helps. Please let me know if this resolve your issue

Hi I did exactly as you said but still does not work. I'm using IIS. I did a search on google and people said stuff like it's an apache thing since it is an extension to the http.conf file so are you sure it will work?
