htaccess (Authentication) and Realm Prompts

Anyone know how to fix getting prompted twice for username/password on a protected directory. I had the serverroot protected and this worked fine. Not needing to protect the whole site I deleted both .htaccess and .htpasswd from root, added the protection into a specific dir, and restarted httpd.

I'm getting prompting with the proper Realm name (from new dir .htaccess file) but I'm getting prompted once with external IP address and a 2nd time showing the Intranet Lan IP of my server (I don't want this shown!)...


Suggestions?
Anyone?
