Hi Guys,

I'm currently studying for my CCNP - Switching

I was looking to setup HRSP in packet tracer however it doesn't seem to have the correct commands withing 3560 multilayer switch!

I would like to purchase some equipment off the internet, which type of layer 3 switches would work at a low price?

Thanks

I bought most of my lab from ebay ....
amazon apparently has some too.. but never tried.

We must go always forward, not backward
always up, not down and always twirling twirling towards infinity.

Cat 3560 doesn't have the right commands for HSRP? What are you doing? Cat 3560 supports HSRP, again what are you doing?

One of the VLAN SVIs off two 3560s running HSRP:
Code:
!! Switch #1 !!
interface Vlan200
 ip address 192.168.150.29 255.255.255.224
 no ip redirects
 no ip proxy-arp
 ip pim sparse-mode
 standby 1 ip 192.168.150.30
 standby 1 pre-empt
!
!! Switch #2 !!
interface Vlan200
 ip address 192.168.150.28 255.255.255.224
 no ip redirects
 no ip proxy-arp
 ip pim sparse-mode
 standby 1 ip 192.168.150.30
 standby 1 pre-empt
 standby 1 priority 90
Two lines is all it takes on each L3 interface to get HSRP working....

Hi,

Nothing compares to the real thing and you could get a Cisco 3550 switch for a reasonable amount on eBay.
