HSRP via VLAN

Hi all,

Has anyone tried using hsrp on a vlan interface and is it even possible?

Yes!It's possible the ISP that I worked for.Was using HSRP on their VLAN's.The 6506 was terminating the VLAN's for the access layer switches.

Yes its no different than applying it to a regular physical interface just put the statements on the SVI.

At a former company we used it on two 2811 expansion switch modules for multiple VLANS and it worked well.
