In a multi-site system where each site has a switch, but where there is only a single HQ server (no backup servers), if the server fails, aside from loss of administrative capability and access to voice mail, are any significant features lost? Do bridged extension appearances and shared line appearances across sites still work? Can a user travel to another site and still log into a phone (i.e hot desk)?

The hot desk won't since that is a server side feature. I believe the BCA stuff will since that is assigned to a switch, but I have not tried that one so I can't say for certain. Normally any virtual extension will not work if the server is down.

The switches store dialing plan and directory info and rely on that in a server outage.

Thanks - that information clears some confusion.
