Hi

CR8 via Active X web viewer

I have a main report. The link to the report is:

This creates a hyperlink in my web pages that handles user ID's and passwords automatically (the user does not have to authenticate to the database.) BUT...

I have a sub-report, and it uses the same database. How do I work the sub-report authetication (which is also user ID - ABC and password - CDE) into the link above, so that the user are not required to log on?

Anyone any ideas?

Hi

Found a way of doing this, so if anyone comes across this post, here's how:

(This is assuming that the primary report and the sub-report call the same database - will thus use the same database authentication)

Link to primary report only (with automatic authentication)

Link to primary report and sub report (with automatic authentication)

If the sub-report looked at a different database the user# and password# would probably be user1 and password1.

Also note that in this example the sub report was created outside the primary report, and imported (hence the file extension .rpt). If it was developed within the Primary report (using the report expert), you would not use a file extension.
