HPOV database nodes

Hi there!
I'm currently trying to include some informations from the HPOV relational DB into our own program.
As we're primarily looking at applications rather than hardware components, i need to know if applications do appear as entries in table OPC_NODES as well.
Is the DB scheme altered (e.g. extended), if we include specific application monitoring modules like the HPOV Performance Agent?

sorry, i forgot: I mean the Operations DB, so yes, we're using Operations.
