powers on sometimes, but not others. Had the electrician check out the wall wiring and they say the power is fine. checked cords. Anyone seen printers do this with power? the switch seems fine. BTW because of a prior problem with the wall the printer was attached to, the UPS appears to be toast. the printer had been hooked to the surge side of this UPS

Many printers especially the ones from HP does not like being connected to a UPS ( If the printer doesn´t power up when turned on, the supply voltage must be too low or fail. If it has been into powersave mode, the wake-up signal might fail. Check in the driver if the parallel portmode is set to bi-directional.
