Hi all,

I'm currently trying to install Jet Direct on one of our systems, without success. I downloaded the package from the HP site and transferred it using binary ftp. On trying to pkgadd it, I get the following messages:

## Executing preinstall script.
## Installation of part 1 of 1 is complete.
## Executing postinstall script.
touch: /opt/hpnpl/etc/install.files cannot create
mkdir: Failed to make directory "/opt/hpnpl/etc/bootpdir"; No such file or directory
chmod: WARNING: can't access /opt/hpnpl/etc/bootpdir
chown: /opt/hpnpl/etc/bootpdir: No such file or directory
find: cannot open /opt/hpnpl/newconfig: No such file or directory
/var/sadm/pkg/HPNPL/install/postinstall: /opt/hpnpl/etc/install.files: cannot create
pkgadd: ERROR: postinstall script did not complete successfully

Installation of <HPNPL> failed.

A file enquiry on the package itself shows it as English text. Perhaps this is the problem - has anyone any experience they can share. Thanks.

D'oh - not yet woken up this morning! I do of course mean JetAdmin. Sorry for any confusion.

No wonder I was confused - I was trying to install the JetDirect Printer installer before the JetAdmin Utility. Roll on lunchtime!!!
