We have remote users that are trying to print to an HP8150 that is in their remote location. When they connect to us from Windows XP workstations, the HP8150 printer is created, but the Citrix PCL4 Universal Print Driver is used instead of the native HP8150 driver. When they connect to us from a Windows 2000 workstation, the HP8150 print driver is used for the HP8150 printer. I have installed the latest HP8150 print drivers onto the Citrix server.

Any ideas why it would work for Windows 2000 and not for Windows XP workstations?

We have set the printer management settings to only use the UPD if the native print driver is not found. By using the UPD driver, the users do not have access to all the paper trays and functionality of the HP8150.

We are running Metaframe XPe on a Windows 2000 Advanced Server.

It is possible that your Metaframe box does not recognize the Windows XP driver, and therefore using the UPD for printing....
